You've worked hard to build this life.
Many of us grew up learning how to carry pressure quietly. Life can look stable from the outside, yet the mind stays busy. Education, career steps, financial stability, and strong relationships often come from real effort and sacrifice.
It still can feel lonely when self doubt shows up after big wins, or guilt appears each time boundaries enter the conversation.
At Here and Now Therapy, we hold space for the parts that others do not see.
South Asian Therapy
We Meet You Where You Are
Many clients that we work with feel stuck between who they are and who they are expected to be.
They may feel guilty after setting boundaries. They may shape shift at work to belong. They may worry about judgment for choices that do not match family expectations.
1-on-1 talk therapy helps unpack those pressures without forcing culture into a problem that needs fixing.
At Here and Now Therapy, we understand that your culture shapes how you cope, connect, and make sense of what you feel. When a therapist brings lived experience within the South Asian community, sessions spend less time on cultural translation and more time on patterns, triggers, emotional needs, and practical change.
We Support You With:
High-functioning anxiety
Stress and depression
People pleasing habits
Identity pressure

Questions About South Asian-Centered Therapy
-
We start with a free 20-minute consultation to understand your concerns, preferences, and issues you'd like to focus on during therapy. We also consider fit factors like communication style and lived context. If your needs shift later, we will discuss options and adjust the plan with care.
-
Needs vary, so we tailor pace to your goals and how you feel week to week. Here and Now clients start with weekly sessions for about 4 to 8 weeks. Then they move to biweekly sessions for a few months. Once things feel stable and manageable, many choose monthly sessions for support and maintenance.
-
Our therapists use evidence based and trauma informed approaches. This may include CBT, DBT, Somatic Therapy, ACT, Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, and parts work such as Internal Family Systems.
-
South Asian therapy at Here and Now is culturally affirming and anti-oppressive. We do not ask you to abandon faith, culture, or family ties, but instead help you understand your beliefs better. We also explore how to set limits in ways that feel respectful and realistic, while ensuring you stay in control.
-
Your first session with a therapist focuses on understanding what brings you in. You can share as much or as little as feels safe. We ask about current stressors, symptoms, and patterns that repeat. We also discuss goals and what support should look like. You will leave with a clear plan for next steps, plus one or two tools to start.
-
Many couples benefit from seeing the same therapist for couples work because it supports shared goals and consistent pacing. We often begin with one individual session for each partner first to address concerns and get detailed history. After that, we move into joint sessions. The exact structure depends on your needs and the issues you want to address.
