MVA benefits extend beyond the driver, and passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists are also eligible for coverage.
To qualify, you need to meet the following criteria:
Accident must have involved an automobile
Notify your insurer within 7 days
Return the completed OCF-1 within 30 days
Symptoms must connect to the accident
Claims must fall within the 2-year limit
Minors require parent or guardian consent
Missing a deadline does not automatically disqualify your claim, though you will need to explain the delay.
Coverage includes psychotherapy, physiotherapy, medication, attendant care, and transportation to appointments, among others. For policies effective on or after July 1, 2026, income replacement and caregiver benefits are available as optional add-ons rather than standard coverage.
MVA Assessment findings determine which supports your insurer approves through the treatment plan we submit.
Common symptoms after a collision:
Intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, and vivid recalls
Disrupted sleep, nightmares, or early waking
Impaired concentration and short-term memory
Persistent anxiety and avoidance of driving
Withdrawal from people and familiar activities
Heightened irritability and emotional reactivity
Chronic pain alongside psychological distress
Increased alcohol or substance use
Our therapists offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space where the difficult parts of recovery can be spoken about openly. Recovery takes time, and having steady support through it makes the difference.

3. Confirmation of exhausted coverage
Your extended health insurer issues a letter confirming no further coverage remains.
4. Coverage moves to your accident benefits
We invoice your auto insurer directly for remaining sessions under your approved OCF-18 treatment plan.
