Therapy For Men
A grounded, practical space for men working through anxiety, addiction, and major life changes. Find support from a male therapist.
Trauma-Informed Care
Culturally-Sensitive Approach
Compassionate Support
Asking for help is not something most men are raised to do.
The expectation to stay composed, keep performing, and handle things internally runs deep. Poor sleep, short temper, distance in relationships, or unhealthy coping habits like substance use and excessive porn use start becoming the norm.
At Here and Now Therapy, we support men with tools and strategies to understand what is driving their stress and make healthier, lasting shifts.

Angad Sachdev is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Here and Now Therapy with a focused practice in men's mental health, anxiety, and addiction.
Anxiety
For some anxiety stems from the pressure to perform, for other men it could be social interactions. Therapy offers you a space to explore the "why" behind it and learn tools to manage them in a confidential, non-judgemental space.
Addiction
Substance use, porn, gambling, and similar habits usually begin as a way to manage stress or discomfort. They aren't acts of selfishness but learned ways of coping from a distressful experience.
Men's Issues
Fatherhood, career pressure, relationships, and questions around identity are issues men don't speak openly about enough. Therapy gives you practical, healthy tools to communicate better, show up more fully as a partner and father, and handle pressure at work.
Angad draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy in his work. If you're interested in knowing more, book a free first consultation with him.
We also offer therapy for South Asian men, with an understanding of the cultural expectations, family dynamics, and pressures that often go unspoken. As a South Asian man himself, Angad understands that context firsthand.

Questions About Therapy for Men
-
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. With everything happening around us, from financial pressure to work stress to strain in relationships, most people can benefit from talking to a registered professional.
Therapy asks you to be vulnerable, which is not easy, but it happens in a space that is safe, confidential, and free of judgement.
-
No. A formal diagnosis is not required to begin. Many men come in simply by recognizing that they feel anxious or depressed, whether it is stress, a habit they want to change, or a sense of "something being wrong". If you found that relatable, therapy is a relevant place to start.
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the most studied and widely used approaches for addiction. It works by helping you identify the thoughts, triggers, and situations that lead to the behaviour, then build practical strategies to respond differently. Because addiction is often tied to underlying stress or emotional pain, CBT is frequently combined with other approaches to address the root.
-
On average, men work with a therapist for around 12 to 18 sessions. Most start with weekly sessions, then move to biweekly as their situation feels more stable, and then shift to monthly check-ins. Your therapist will adjust the pace with you.
-
Here and Now Therapy provides official receipts for all sessions, which you can submit directly to your insurance provider in Ontario. Most extended health plans that cover psychotherapy reimburse sessions without issue. We recommend confirming your specific coverage with your provider before beginning.
